Toilet leaking

I know what I forgot to say - it's a back to the wall toilet and whilst still hunting through plumbers merchants, some are showing a different set up for btw which has like a massive jubilee clip on it.

Fab. Thank you. All ordered - now I've just got to see if I can actually get the car out to go for it - the joys of snow

I never want to see the back end of a toilet again!!!!

It took over two hours to dig my car out of snow, got to Screwfix (everywhere else was closed), got my parts

Trying to fit it was a bleeding nightmare. I attached it to the pan, then couldn't get the other end in the soil pipe, removed it from the pan and shoved it in the soil pipe, then couldn't get it lined up properly on the pan, so went with the first choice again and still couldn't get it in the soil pipe. So called on reinforcements and got the soil pipe end in and with my niece lifting the front end of the pan, I eventually got it a good snug fit. Not sure if I've got the inlet cone in properly but did my best to get all the fins in. The we tested it. No leaks so far. I pray to God there are no more leaks.

I'll get the panels back on the back of the loo and get it all siliconed tomorrow. I'm too traumatised tonight

Hats off to every plumber out there and thank you guys for your input.

Yes ,looks ok . Pity no one mentioned to put washing up liquid all around the seals on the pan connector end into soil pipe, it goes in a lot easier. Don't put it anywhere else though .

It said on the instructions to use silicone grease but I only had silicone spray............... that did help a bit. It's just so awkward to get into

Looks as a good a job as anyone else could have done, and looking at it seems unlikely it'll leak. I am concerned though about the movement in the pan, it really should be pretty solidly fixed!

It was skinny little no 6 screws that were holding it down (though they were 80mm long), so I walloped a couple of no 10's in so the pan is pretty solid now. There was this random bit of wood jammed up the back of the cistern and propped against the soil pipe. It fell out and I had no clue of it's purpose. I do now - it was clearly to stop movement in the bottom of the cistern, which is pulling the flush pipe loose - so I'll need to try and jam the random bit of wood back in and tinker with the flush pipe, so it ain't over just yet.

Should have added, better to use brass screws to secure a pan. Steel will rust, expand and possibly crack the ceramic.
