Hi Folks

My son's Hyuandai i20 2 door has had a dicky passenger side door lock than has now stopped working completely. Trouble is it's closed and locked!

Any suggestions how to get it open? I've tried no end of pressing the remote and wiggling the handle from the inside. There is no key slot on the outside.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Is there any way you can undo internal door lever and manually pull on cables? Inner cable may even be seized inside so a bit of wd40 may help.

Had this on a SEAT Cupra, used the drivers door as a guide to where the lock/cable was then drilled small hole in the door card and sprayed the area with WD40, was in in less than 10 minutes.

Thanks all. Had a go at it tonight and it wasn't too bad at all....was in within 10 minutes. A couple of securing screws to remove, drop the window and carefully prise the top of the door inner panel over the lip of the door panel and there is enough space to get hands in and start tugging at things. A bit more gentle pressure on the door panel and it pretty much comes away completely. Then it's just a simple matter of unlatching the lock and opening the door. I'm a lot happier now its open again! Now to sort the sticking mechanism.

ref: sticking mechanism

This grease is ideal in my opinion. I also used on the two garage doors I've serviced in recent years. I got a pack of six so a lot cheaper. l
