Subsidence?

Hi
Just looking opinions from anyone who may have some - know only an engineer/surveyor who looks at it in the flesh can say for certain - but just looking opinions in the mean time from anyone who might know more than myself.

Below cracks in a house, what are the chances of them being subsidence/serious?
One below a windowsill, one between wall & ceiling at stair case.

Doesn’t look too bad to me.

Hard to tell really but I’d be more concerned if the outside walls were
cracked also.

It appears to be just superficial cracks in the plaster inside you should strip it back for a better look.

The only way to know for sure is hack off a bit of plaster and see if the wall beneath is cracked or if it's just the plaster. It's approximately 99.9% certain to be plaster only. Not uncommon with age/type.

I wondered that too looking at it.

That photo was taken late at night in the dark with the flash on. Have attached a better brighter photo of the outside wall here.

Have also noticed now looking at it in day light that the external wall, at opposite end of the window sill to the end that has the internal crack, might have a crack outside? Along the pointing?

The type and location of the cracks does not suggest subsidence, but more related to thermal movement (shrinkage) which is related to heat and moisture/humidity rather than foundation movement.
