Hi left my son to cut this out and he went too big, so can I just use joint filler to block this out 10mm ? CACEC2AE-E75E-4192-8F1D-3A902C67C6EC.jpegB98C2431-34B8-4825-86DB-D9655A5F7D45.jpeg

The normal method it to finish ends like that with a blind return. Like this.

67mm for 100mm or 84mm for 127mm (4 or 5 inch cove..

Just an external cut

With 4 inch the cove comes out on ceiling 67mm. Down the wall 67mm. Angle cut is 67mm. I think that is 4inch..

Just cut the existing piece back using a left hand, LH, external mitre template, to mark where to cut, then cut another small separate piece of coving, using a RH external mitre template. Join/fix the 2 together on the ceiling, then you'll end up with a neat, external mitre.
Be careful when you cut the existing piece. When you've marked it, cut it back carefully with a sharp Stanley knife.

You can go on the internet, and print off some Gyproc 100mm, coving templates. I do that all the time for whatever I need.
