Have a HKC alarm at house recently purchased.. have worked in telecoms for over 40years , have a degree in telecoms , electrical and electronic engineering so very confident how to to deal with system.. however cannot get simple parts .. eg.. wireless door contact.
Have user and installation manual and all straight forward.. have even had original installation company come and reset the engineering code to what i want so i can access programming...
however having spoken to HKC they only sell to installer distribution companies... Then it becomes a closed shop ... as they only sell to registered installers !!!??
Its like dealing with a secret organisation or the freemasons... and we are only talking about a residential alarm system.
Appreciate it may be said its all to do with security but really thats just to cover the closed shop arrangement.
Its my alarm in my house.. i own it .. therefore i want control of it..
Another reason mentioned mentioned its to stop people messing and cocking up the HKC system/// ??? OK...but so thats my choice on MY alarm and if i do mess it up its my fault and then i would have to pay for an installer to correct my mistake...
Anyone know where to get basic parts.. eg.. wireless door contact or wireless panic button.
Im sure there must be some law against selective selling

Thanks ...

Orisec also sell ONLY to registered companies as well.
Years ago Galaxy alarm control panels were only available to registered installers , now owned by Honeywell and every Tom,Dick & Harry can now purchase them. The problem is these control panels are now so technical most DIY installers do not understand are bombarding technical help lines wants to be told how to work the system.
Only option you have is to contact your local installers and they may sell you a door contact for you to install, but at their charge.

I searched online and can find them on sale from distributors known to sell to end users.

So you can try them until you find one that will sell to you.

Other than that need to opt for a more widely available system like Pyronix or Texecom
