Anyone know about the light attached? It’s been lying in the loft for years and I decided to fit it in the shed today, the light will stay on for about 5 mins then go out, by the model numbers can you say if it’s a sensor light and should be acting as above or should it stay on when powered? Thanks

From what little I can work out, it is just a normal 2D (double D) florescent fitting, 28w and should stay on whilst ever it has power.
Usual fault is failing to light, just glowing at the tube ends, or flickering on and off. Might be worth swapping the starter, to see if it stays on, but you will need the correct starter for it.
Note: - 2D's and florescent tubes are not considered long lasting or particularly efficient nowadays - LED is much better in most respects. If it is for a rarely used loft light, I don't suppose it matters.

Hi, when I switch it on it lights brightly and fully then after 5 mins it goes completely out, no glowing or flickering
Send a picture of inside the light if you can - you never know, it may help.

It does not have a starter the HF denotes its a High Frequency 28 watt standard2D fitting with a Cool White 28W lamp fitted (4 pin)

Was quite important back in the day as some ballasts for (TC) compact lamps are not the same as ballasts for (TL) straight tubes of the same wattage

The lamp is bad or you've fitted the wrong wattage of lamp most likely. The HF ballast will be shutting the lamp down thinking it's faulty as the operating parameters are wrong. You need a 4 pin 28w lamp.
