Possible moisture in bricks

Just had a side wall for the extension we're doing built yesterday. Some of the bricks they used have a much darker look - much more red than than brecken grey the rest are. All bricks are from the same batch and they are putting it down to moisture in the brick. Why they didn't use the dry bricks from the other pallets is another question. But how can I confirm its moisture and is there a way to resolve the problem. A bigger issue I reckon is that some of the brickwork is questionable, with some clearly being laid crooked. Do I have a recourse to ask them to put it right and can anything be done about it now that the wall is already up? Thanks

Well they (the labourer) should be taking a 'few' bricks from each pack to the brickies so that you get an even mix of colours.

As for wet bricks - those will dry out.

As for your question about the quality of the bricks being laid I'm sure others on the forum will offer their opinion.

Thanks Wgt52. I'm more concerned the bricks are a different colour rather than moisture, although unlikely as these were from the same pallet. Is there a way I can confirm it is moisture and not the actual brick colouring?

Thanks Woody, that's what i thought. Would that be possible from bricks off the same pallet, more rhetorical really. Is there an 'easy' clean way for them to replace these or do I need to live with it. Its on an outside wall so the BC might have something to say about it as well. And then there's the irregular lines of the bricks. I've had a polite word with my builder but I might have to spell out what is required.

Just ran my hand across the 'red' bricks and it feels very wet with red wet brick dust being left; whereas the other bricks leave no moisture or residue when rubbed. Does this mean the bricks are wet afterall and could potentially clear up?
