Hi,

Does anyone know how easy it is to install a Pyronix Enforcer alarm for someone without electrical experience?

Could I install the whole kit myself? If not, and I instead pay someone to set up a basic system, is it easy enough for me to add extra PIR's, Keyfob and other items to upgrade the system, or there something in the system (engineer codes etc) which could prevent me from doing that?

Thanks

Thats like asking someone else that cant see me if I am wearing odd socks.

Many on here do, theres plenty of advice too, you may want a sparky to do your fused spur mind.

Sorry, but what I'm asking is if I can pay a professional to install say basic unit + 2 PIR's. Then I can add additional PIR's, Door sensors, keyfob etc? Or is there something in the Pyronix system itself which would stop me doing that? For example, can the engineer lock the unit with their own code to stop me adding more to the system?

The main reason for asking is I plan to extend soon, so if I want to add my own PIR's, or upgrade to pet friendly ones, add my own keyfob. The added benefit is saving money on the install though.

Just make it clear to the installer about this ( if you can find one to fit it for you ) ....but they will probably offer no warranty after hand over ....
The pyronix kits come with pet tolerant pirs ....but I don’t rate them , they are ok after removing the pet mask but if you are wanting pet tolerant pirs ( depending on size of pet ) I would say the Bosch and optex rx40pt do work ( small dogs and cats depending on where they are sited )

If you really want to have a go it yourself, get a manual go through it and see if you change your mind.

Best way to learn would be to do it yourself from day one, have a look at some of the threads on here, before buying.

You may find other systems like AJAX easier (not a recommendation) but its is supposed to be easy to diy, but little support on forums from what I have seen and never had a go with one.

I’d say any Bozo could install one using this forum and YouTube as a guide. Very little skill required. Buy it, read the manual and if stuck post on here. If the Enforcer was a child’s toy it would be rated age 12+.
