Could you please provide your opinion on the general quality of the work in these images

On some of the laminate flooring ones surprised clients wanted repeating joints all the way through, usually you'd break it up after 4/5 boards to stop the stepped pattern. Also I would be surprised if those boards allowed for such a short overlap.

Also skirts weren't lifted so edging trims been used, not my preference. (You can do it without lifting skirts but then you need to joint under the skirting, which takes time).

As one final observation, it's very rare a client wants boards running horizontally from main window in room like in most of these examples. Usually boards are placed so they run to the main window to again improve the look.

Writing this out these could all be the clients doing!

I'd rather a sparky did the rewire, but his work looks to be of a high standard, as much as you can judge from photos anyway!

Thanks for taking a look mikeey (y) I was asking about the electrics and he has an electrician covering the electrical work and I think he helps the electrician

What work do you want him to do anyway?
General house refurbish
House rewire
New Kitchen
New bathroom
Painting and decorating throughout

The vast majority of his photos are “finishing” trades eg tiling, decorating, laminate flooring, MDF furniture, skimming the odd wall. If that’s what he does then fine and I can’t fault any of those pics that I can see, the fact that he’s made the effort to take them (if he has) is good. But why is he including pics of big roofing jobs, if all he did was paint the barge boards? That’s all I’d be concerned about. There’s no evidence of him doing any actual “building work” ie brickwork, structural stuff but if that’s not what you need him for, fair enough.

His core skill is plumbing (Professionally qualified), an experienced based core skill that's been acquired is carpentry

just hire him for one of the smaller jobs first and see how you get on. Don’t think there’s anything else that can be advised on here

And bear in mind that replies saying he is good may well even be from the guy himself.
We have plumbers on here too. :)

No offence intended, but if the guy is a good as you and he believes what does he need you for? If it’s too good to true, usually it isn’t

I've only got these pictures to go on as I've not asked for references yet. I just wanted to get some of the experts here's initial opinion before inviting him to quote - I've not found him through references so the images are what I've got to go on
