Aren't we jumping the gun a bit? I would need to know why there are three extra wires first, before pronouncing exactly what needs to be done - apart from making safe, in a terminal block, the earth wire and the neutral in T2.

Why ? he is struggling with basic wiring and you want him to try and work out where the additional switched live in 3 goes to.
Where are you getting 3 wires from its only one additional wire connected in terminal 3 s the black wire doesnt look like its connected to anything
You're quite correct. I was thinking the red was also connected to 1; which leaves two spare wires - the red (3) and black (not connected). I suspect there are two separate cables: red and black (old style); and (new style) brown, blue, green/yellow and one with white sleeve conneected to 3. If that is correct, the red/black cable is redundant and can be disconnected (easy to check) and made safe, together with blue and green/yellow. That just leaves brown and the wire with white sleeve as live and switched live, which go to A and B, respectivly, on the DT90E.

yes easy to check for someone who understands basic instructions like use terminals 1 and 3 anyone else is likely to give themselves a shock
