I am installing a metal shed to create a Rat proof chicken house which will be placed on a concrete base. I would like to fix the metal shed to planks secured to the concrete base made from a water proof composite. Is there such a material and if so where would one purchase it?

Regards, Brian

There is recycled plastic based composite decking and timber replacement but why not screw to the concrete?
Rats will eat plastic as easily as wood. I wouldn't be surprised if they ate concrete to be honest? You could potentially use engineering bricks to build a ring then screw to those.

Your right about Rats eating plastic. I will lay a roll of DPC to keep the damness in the concrete away from the metal shed and screw it into the concrete. Many thanks.

The Yardmaster metal shed looked great on the advertisement but no instructions came with it and the only one I could find on the Internet is not at all helpful. Does anyone know if accurate instructions actually exist?

Surely the supplier will have instructions?

I've just built an 8' x 4' Panana metal shed in the last couple of weeks - me and my boy. The feedback on the shed was hilarious. People said they were engineers and couldn't get it built. Others said they managed it but it took them two or three days. We had a bit of a laugh at the instructions - You could say they were more of a clue as to how to build it rather than actually how to build it. From start to finish it took us exactly 5 hours. My boy is an electrician and I'm a chartered surveyor so, between us, we are pretty handy.

To be honest, without the instructions it would have been pretty difficult. The panels are not drilled the same and it would be easy to fit one in one place only to find you needed that panel later.

Good luck.

YardMaster sent me a video on how to construct the shed and it looks good so tomorrow my grandson and I will commence work on it.
