Covid mortality predictor

Tell us what it means, then.
Be more specific, what what means?
If it is significant that many are obese then it must be those who are dying or it would be irrelevant.
Already answered above, being obese increases your risk. This is known and not disputed, it was identified fairly early iirc, around the first wave.

More and more people think aliens exist,
With good reason, it would be foolish to think we are alone.

Depends on how you qualify alone.

The Voyager spacecraft travelling at 10 miles per second will take 70,000 years to reach the nearest star, Alpha Centauri. (If it was aimed correctly)

So a round journey of 140,000 years.

So even if ( big if ) there was life on a planet around this Star, I would still say we are alone.

As regards other life elsewhere, absolutely so, with an estimated 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in the observable universe.

It is beyond belief, that we are truly alone.

Ahh, but at any time interval, we could be alone.

There are people living up your road that are alone, some having not spoken to another person in a month or more. Forget about the aliens, worry about humans first!

608,002 deaths
death registrations in England and Wales

I agree that 608 is not the same as 697

I'm sure you will agree that England and Wales is not the same as UK.

  1. Last year saw the largest increase in UK deaths in a single year since 1940, according to provisional ONS figures
  2. In 2020, nearly 697,000 deaths were registered, compared with an average of nearly 606,000 each year between 2015 and 2019

The ONS link is much more informative and thorough.

I have no interest in prolonging this discussion.
More information:

64,000 deaths in Scotland. 608,000 + 64,000 = 672,000. Still 25,000 short.

Oh well. Near enough.

We might not be alone but we may never be able to visit.

For instance if the aliens are outside our local group and in areas that are not gravitationally bound we would never be able to reach the destination as the expansion of the universe would be faster than we could travel outside of the group.

Eventually by this same effect we won't even be able to see or detect anything outside of the group. In a few billion years time.

This study is a more abstract one, if you've got lots of deaths then you're also very likely to have high levels of obesity. Although not automatically the other way around. It's probably more telling of national attitudes/characters than anything else.

I thought you were trying for something deeper, after all I'd already answered that as well.

I should have accounted for your reading comprehension.

I had indeed. Thank you.

We will assume they were 25,000.

Why not just point that out instead of being all JohnD-ish?
