Looking for a reasonable PAT unit.

As stated in the title. I've been given the task of sourcing a reasonable PAT testing unit. Don't need one with bells and whistles or even downloadable to a PC, just a tester that will be reliable and reasonably priced. Do they all have the ability to test PC's now without frying the boards?
I won't be making the final decision, just presenting what I have found to my boss who will decide which one.

IF your going to be testing lots then get one that can save and upload the data to your pc.
Having a manual one (UniT 528 I think) it forgets (clears) what its results were after a few second, just too quick for me to note them down.
I have to record everything it does so one that uploads would IMO be better.

I use a Batt Pat- a couple of hundred quid. Simple pass/fail.
Relies on paper records.

I have an inventory on excel that is cloud based, and carry an iPad with me.
Passed items obviously get a sticker and I also use a series of coloured stickers on the back as a quick visual check - the colour changes each year so a glance can alert me to a missed item

Another dept we had a Robin (can't remember the model) which stored tests but was a real faff. Uploading was also a pain

@eta it's got to be a brand newie unfortunately.

@mattylad good point about it showing the result for just a few seconds. I'll look out for that. Thanks.

@Tigercub I'll have a look at that one. Good idea about the coloured stickers. When I was in engineering they used to use different coloured cable ties on shackles and eye bolts to denote if they were in the correct time frame. Wrong colour and you didn't use it. (God help you if you did and got caught!)

fwiw I use the Kewpat app with my manual tester, I stick all the details in that then test it and hope I can remember the results right as I enter them.
Then I can email a CSV, pick that up and copy the new records over to the spreadsheet we use.
It also outputs a simple PDF report.
