This is the replacement. Yes, only started since I replaced it.

Did this only start when you added the scale inhibitor? If so I'd be tempted to replace it with the old one just to see if it returns to normal.

i didn’t keep the old one unfortunately.

this is the new one fitted.

Maybe take it off and put a piece of copper pipe in between if you haven't got the old one.

I flushed the boiler through yesterday and took the inhibitor out and piped through. This seems to have solved the problem with the gas burners not getting up to full strength and yesterday both central heating and the hot water we’re working perfectly all day.

This morning, the heating has fired up and is roaring away but there is no hot water at all. It doesn’t seem to be recognising the call for hot water which is a different issue to what I’ve been having.

Thanks for all the responses. I think there is a blockage somewhere. After no hot water this morning, I switched the boiler from both to hot water only and managed to get it fired up. Since then I’ve had hot water and heating all day whenever called.
A bit of floating debris sounds like it. I’ll give it another flush next weekend.
