Hi everyone,

Quick question.

I'm installing a wireless room stat to a Rehema Avanta Plus combi-boiler (not sure exactly which model).

The ESi room stat has OpenTherm connections and the boiler manual states "The Remeha Avanta Plus has an OpenTherm® interface. This enables our modulating range of OpenTherm room controls (e.g. the Remeha Celcia 15 or 20) to be connected without any further modifications."

Please could you confirm my understanding of the wiring requirements as shown on the attached picture?

Do I need any connection from T1, T2 & T3 on the ESi device to T1, T2 & T3 on X2 block?

Thanks

Nathan

Not all OT setups will talk to each other, you will have to check With remeha if theirs will work with the ESI stat, you may need an additional interface if you dont use Remehas own controls

Just wire it as per the yellow lines in your pic; no other connections are required. The OT connections can be either way round; and the links on L2 need to stay in place (or be replaced if already removed).

All OT compliant products have to respond to Data IDs 0 (master/stat & slave/boiler status), 1 (CH water temp setpoint) and 3 (slave configuration). All other Data IDs, e.g actual water temperature, modulation level, water presssure etc. are optional. Some stats may ask for this information, and some boilers may provide it.

Sorry disagree some manus boilers will only communicate with their own products

Thanks for the replies.

Do I need to take out the mechanical timer from the boiler or can I just leave it connected and in the on position?

Cheers

I've double checked compatability and it actually says in the boiler manual:

The Remeha Avanta Plus can therefore be controlled directly by any other controls with the OpenTherm® logo

That is fine then it will be OK
