I've a hanging chair that I want to install in the house. The only really suitable place is off a flat arch between the dining room and sun room. I've attached a photo of the arch where I plan to hang it from.
I asked the builder what the structure of the arch is and he said there are 2 RSJ steel beams bolted together. I'm thinking about maybe drilling 20mm left or right of the centre of the arch to ensure I don't hit the centre of either RSJ.

The chair itself is one of those rope ones which hang from 2 pieces of rope. Both pieces have a ring on the end. I had planned on using eye bolts to hang the rope off but I can't use eye bolts as I can't put the rings into the eyes. Any suggestions of what to use instead of the eye bolts?

Drill and tap a thread in the RSJ? I hung a wicker one in our old house about 35 years ago. I just screwed a corse threaded eye bolt into a ceiling joist. Mind you, I weighed quite a bit less in those days than I do now!
