I’m in the process of putting a border around an existing patio, a garden border and also putting in a new paved area. In the attached picture you will see the new paved area in the top right and a drawn red line where the brick border will go around all edges.

As the fence in the top right corner is less than 90’ we are having to bring the new paved area in slightly from the fence line, so it done a run parallel with it as the border will.

So my question is, in what order is it best to lay this job? How is it best to ensure things will be square depending on which is payed first?

Thanks in advance.

Personally I would set the borders the same distance from the gravel boards all round.

The border will follow the fence line all the way around apart from the paved area, because the fence isn’t 90 degrees on that corner we are coming out slightly to achieve the square paved area.

round off the corners, get a bit of shape into it rather than these hard straight lines with right angle corners. It will look far more natural and a million times better for not much more work.
