I am having my combi boiler swapped out and as this is the first time I have changed a boiler I want to know the following please from you kind folks about what paperwork the installer will give me when he leaves

The boiler is a Main combi which is going to get swapped out for another Main compact boiler. When he finishes will he give me a gas safety certificate or something else and if so what should I ask so that when I come and sell the flat or I need a warranty from the manufacturer I can have the paperwork

Just so that you know the quotation is for new boiler, new flue, new thermostat and a new filter.

Materials :
Boiler and flue = 600
Filter = 100
Thermostat = 70
Installation to include powerflush £1200

Materials sounds fair but I thought install cost was a steep

When I had my boiler changed, the installer sent something off to the main body or something and they sent me a certificate. They also registered it with the manufacturer and they sent me the guarantee. You have a type of service book like a car that the gas safe engineer completes every time they do a service.

It’ll be registered via Gas Safe ( as long as the Engineer is Gas safe registered) you’ll get a Certificate about 2 weeks after he registers it

Can't comment on prices as I'm no fitter. But he should be Gas Safe registered (you can look him up on their website) and he should forward boiler details to Gas Safe who will issue a certificate of compliance. When selling a property this will be asked for. I assume, too, he will fill in the paperwork with the boiler manufacture and register the installation, and from there on the warranty starts.
