Looking for an AC evaporator for Peugeot 307?

Seems like no mechanic wants to do the job where I live or seem to be very knowlegeable about it either, maybe thats why they dont want the job.

Wish there was someway to keep the car cool during the hot weather coming up.

If you utter the words "dash out" every mechanic in the town will run a mile, as would I.
I agree with others who have said that the evaporator is the most unlikely place to have a leak, I've never come across a leaky one.
I would get a second opinion.

If it's any help, we had a leak on the evaporator on a 1.5 years old (at the time) 2015 Mazda 3. Dash out job done under warranty.

Thanks all, can not find a mechanic who is willing to do the job, they don't specifically say no but say things like we are too busy, dont have enough staff, can not source the part, dont return my calls. Very dissapoiting as I am happy to pay for it to be repaired but no one will do it. I think part of it is also that they have never changed the evaporator before, most I have spoken to have said they have not done it before or its been 8 years since. Did find one but said it would take 6-7 days of work????

Wish there was a decent AC mobile unit I could plug into the USB port, one which I didnt have to fill with Ice and water every day.

Find an a/c specialist and ask them to do a dye test to confirm where the leak is, if this has not already been done. It certainly by law ought to have been done, rather than recharge the system, if there is any doubt about there being a leak - it is illegal to refill a leaking a/c system.

Stivino, in Glasgow. At this point I would travel to Midlothian if allowed to get it fixed prpoerly.

I've been to two AC specalists.

1st one did a pressure test, said theres a leak in condenser, showed me a couple of holes and said I can fix that. Said he fixed it and charged ac.
next day AC stopped blowing cold air. Took it back to him, he ran a dye test and said theres a leak in evapoator.

2nd ac specalist ran a pressure test and said yes the first mechanic was right, its a leak from evapoator.

Have you tried THE AIR CON GUY? He's based in Alloa and covers all this area? He can be found on Facebook.

THE AIR CON GUY? not yet....can you recommend them?
No, I'm not recommending him, I was just curious as that is what he does. I was thinking of getting him to do something for me but, I wanted to vet him first.

I'm assuming ac is only needed in Scotland to clear misty windows. :)
I'll have you know that it was reported on BBC's This Morning during the week that Edinburgh was the warmest place in Europe. But, you might have a point. :)

Glasgow was very warm yesterday. One of those clocktowers which is always correct said 18.1Cel yesterday....
