We have a brand new LG washing machine.
Say 6 weeks old.
Sometimes... not always... washing after its dried absolutely stinks!

I blamed the wife. I thought she was putting tooo much load.
I made a load myself. - a fairly small load, bedsheet, dressing gown and 4 tshirts. Came out OK. Everything smelled OK.
The dressing gown after drying had the same stink!

Washing detergent wasn't low or anything.

What should I be doing?

Thanks.

please photograph the layout of the waste hose from the washer, and how it runs and connects to the drain. You can add pics to your reply by "copy and paste" or by "more options" "upload a file."

What temperature washes are you doing?

how long after the cycle finishes do you empty the machine?

What quantity of powder and fabsoft do you add?

As justpumps says... do you drape wet washing around the house; or tumble-dry it, or hang outside on a washing line?

Thanks for all your replies to my questions. Much appreciated.

Temperature - normally 40.
How long after cycle - wife sometimes leaves over night!
Quantity of powder: just the recommended, we fill up the bowl thing and chuck into the washing - as per instructions.
No tumble drying - just draping around house.

Warm damp conditions are ideal for growth of bacterial and fungal decay.

40C does not kill micro-organisms.

I still want to see those photos.

Need to move the washing machine to show pipes.
Absolutely essential? Happy to send pics if you say so.
Let me know.
Thanks.

Await your questions about black mould everywhere.

yes

especially how it connects to the waste pipe

because a common error allows dirty water to run into the machine.

p.s.

i sometimes leave mine on spin delay overnight, but after a 60C wash which sterilises it pretty well.
