What's the internal diameter of a salt clay toil waste pipe from around the 1960s?

Thanks. Got a few McAlpine push fit waste connections here, looks like they'll both fit. Never replaced a toilet before, so we'll see how I get on.

Never had one not fit. McAlpine are better quality so you should be fine.

Job done, new toilet fitted with no issues. Just after some advice now on what to do with the collar. It's sealed ok, but just to make it look nice. I'd rather not fill again with mortar. Plumbers mait?

Plumbers Mait or putty, whichever you prefer. Only issue with Plumbers Mait is it attracts dirt.

Pan connect seals inside pipe so much neater to slice the collar off and lay floor covering over if possible/practical

I might revisit and slice the collar off with a diamond tipped disc on my angle grinder to make a neater job when it comes to tiling.
