Yes, indeed although generally considered bulletproof by many mine was a lemon.

Had it from new. 52 plate. Still sell Amazon's, which are still generally considered as bulletproof.

I've just seen a 1998 model for sale at £11,500 - What fuel mileage can you get with yours as the specs say they get 17 mpg - They're thirsty beasts which could make it almost unaffordable to run - that would mean a 5 hour trip going an average of 60 mph would cost: 5 x 60 = 300 miles divided by 17 = 17.65 x 4.754 = £83.84

Depends. The 4.2 TD does about 17 MPG. The 4.7 petrol does about 12 MPG.
And your calcs are off a uk gallon is 4.54 litres.
Petrol and diesel are about £1.20 a litre, or £5.45 a gallon. This means that at 17 & 12 MPG, a trip would cost £96 in diesel or £136 in petrol.

To make matters even worse the 4.7 petrol model only has a range of about 300 miles. I seem to recall the tanks capacity is about 120 litres. (could be wrong on that though)

Update: So I got £1,200 in the end cash although he was looking to pay less. I felt it was in the situation where if anything went wrong with it then it would cost proper money to fix - also the body work needed attention
