Is the Texecom Connect's internet speed capped at 100mbps? I haven't been able to find anything from Texecom which tells me, but it doesn't seem to allow 1gbps and so I wondered if this is the norm or if mine is faulty. Thanks.

It's not a question of 'capping'. It connects at 100Mb/s, as many simple devices do. There is no need for it to connect at 1Gb/s. Even 100Mb/s is far faster than it needs for the small amount of data it passes.

Many of these systems have ancient designs that are passing serial data at 9.6k to bolted on network interfaces, so even the 100Mb/s network will never be fully utilised.

Thanks, I just wondered why my router, which has 1gbps LAN port capability, was showing the speed for the LAN the Texecom Connect is linked to as being 100mbps. I had presumed that this is because the Texecom Connect does not allow throughput at a higher speed, which of course might be because it's not required.

Thanks GalaxyGuy, interesting.
