External uPVC window sill.

Hi, I'm fitting 2 uPVC windows, from the inside BTW. I was thinking if i could fit an external uPVC sill after I've the wondows fitted.
There are 6"tiles fitted as a sill at the moment, I could remove these if needed.

Thoughts please and thanks.

Not really, most pvc cills are designed so the window sits on top of them

Aye, I thought that, window fitted for the outside I'd thought.

I wonder could I fit an internal sill outside? how would it weather?

All the cill does is provides an exit route for rainwater hitting the window (and any condensation inside the frame) that drops off the cill rather than running down the wall face and potentially causing damp problems (less of an issue with cavity walls).
You could put a thin timber cill out there, you'll be repainting it every 5 years or so.

Just something better looking than the look of the silly 6" tiles, its not to water proof it, just cosmetic really

Just take them off then and fit a normal cill. If there's a height issue you could put a frame extender on the bottom of the frame.

Depending on the layout, get a face drained window, and use a piece of fascia board as a sill
