Are 150mm x 22mm ok for fence boards? Worried about weight.

I am building a horizontal fence made from 150 x 22mm thick boards. I want to minimise warping, fence panels are such shoddy quality and they warp and have gaps. So thought the 22mm would ensure a nice strong fence. They’re not feather edge.

I have 100mm x 100mm posts at 180cm centres. Fence will be about 5.5ft tall

as I carried the boards over and realised how heavy they are I started to worry that made a terrible decision and the boards will put too much weight on the posts.

Anyone know it it’s ok, or I’ve messed up and should have at least chosen feather edge or thinner boards?

It'll be fine, it's a vertical weight on the post.
The main worry is wind, which you would get with fence panels anyway.

I'm doing that, using decking boards, fixed horizontally (no arris rails needed)

They do warp a bit so I will be adding some intermediate uprights to brace them together

I find coach screws suitable.

I'm expecting the fence to last a long time so use concrete posts or spurs.

Thanks both. I was worried maybe the weight is one sided and pull it forward, although it’s close to the post centre of gravity and they’re embedded in concrete 60 cm deep and about a foot wide.

I will also be using some 45 x 45 uprights mid span of the 180cm posts to help reduce warping.

So hopefully it’s going to a strong fence, I just wasn’t sure about all that weight on the side of the posts.

I was originally going for a alternating overlap, like a hit and miss with no gaps, but I might just go for a standard overlap like you get on vertical ones as it means less boards needed. Haven’t decided yet.
