Hi all,

I've made my warm roof now, and along with upstands I've installed an arris rail on the edge.

However, now I'm watching videos for installing the membrane and every single one just has a 90 degree angle from roof to wall/upstand without any arris rail.

My EPDM comes with a RUSS strip, so should I just remove the arris rail and just have the RUSS against the upstand?

Thanks in advance
Andy

I just googled a video and it has no arris - so remove yours ;)

It won't do any harm leaving it, normally required when installing tar based products to stop it splitting at the 90° junction when expanding.

The arris rail will make it slightly more difficult to get crisp edges and it will make your pigs ear tricky on that internal corner.

I would remove it.

You need a penny seam roller to really get it tight.

EPDM stretches and moves as you lay it so set it so it finishes higher than your upstanding then trim off with a knife.

Vacuum the OSB before putting up the EPDM and if poss lay the rubber out in the sun for a hour to relax out the worst of the creases.

I think the russ strip i only needed on certain size roofs, however i put it on my upstand against the wall for piece of mind
