Old Hive, new combi.

I have put the crappy siemans one back on it now, however I wired as thus L and N ( brown / black ) when Blue to 4 and yellow/green to earth connector
it all registered correctly etc and was recieving from the sender to the transmitter, when I asked Alexa to turn the heating up it blue the fuse.

so should the blue and yellow wire be connected up to the pink connection instead? and the small wire put between the red connections?

It seems you might be confusing yourself now, or your brain needs a break:
yellow/green to earth connector
And the confusion:
so should the blue and yellow wire be connected up to the pink connection instead? and the small wire put between the red connections?

As @ianmcd pointed out earlier in thread:

also you mention an earth, never trust the colours of wires in a heating system, they mean nothing
Also just above now in reference to earth.

Earth/cpc should be green/yellow wire or sleeving, however, yours appears to be being used as a live conductor.

Many thanks for all of your replies, very informative ( and probably a little bit expensive for me )

in lay mans terms, using the above wiring, what do I join from where to where on the hive.
Blue / Brown of course. Yellow and gray to where please.
and Thanks again.

ok, I have replaced the fuses. and maybe will have to get someone to replace the PCB. ( Price idea anyone? )
any idea on what smart system I could use with the Boiler instead.
About £280 for a new board, plus fitting. Might be worth getting a pro in to get all this sorted for you. As others have said, you seem to be tying yourself in knots over this. If you do want to press ahead with trying to fit Hive yourself, at least post photos of the connections you've made at both ends before you turn it on again

Take These from Siemens to Hive:

L to L
N to N
L1 to Heating On number 4 (if this is the green/yellow in L1, swap with the grey one and still sleeve/tape brown). This connects to Switch live/live return (right hand as you look at it) in pink/orange terminal at the boiler. Put the Lx from Siemens (common/live in) in a chock block and do not connect to boiler.

Before turning back on - As per @muggles post photo of wiring on here to make certain.

create small link

Wiring to Hive receiver and wiring to 230v side of boiler.

is this correct? or does the yellow wire need to connect to something? next to Grey wire. but not connect to anything in hive?

yeah thats what I thought.
so as it stands now, the wiring is correct and I am good to go ( once I have isolated the green/yellow wire :) )
I have not yet switched on the power.

Many Thanks Ian, for all your advice and help.
my system is now working correctly via the hive.
Also thanks to everyone else on this thread.
