I am going to run swa 6m 50m to the shed where it will connect to a mini CU and will have 4 double sockets and 1 strip light with switch. The swa will be run along a wall and not burred and the sockets will be in radial circuit not ring.

What I am not sure about is how to run the swa into the main internal cu (terminating) that is in the house as it is a flush unit to the wall. I assume i put a small wiska box and gland it then run the 3 core through the wall and into the back of the CU I also assume that the box would not need to be earthed as the swa will be earthed at the cu?.

or

Can i add a 20m hole straight into the plastic cu and gland directly or is this a bad idea against regs etc.

I AM AWARE THIS IS notifiable under part p and have an electrician lined up to do final safety check and issue cert all being well.

Much depends on the CU and how the SWA gland will warp the plastic. I have had CU where one can fit banjo washers and gland direct in, and also those were however much you try the dress the cable it warps box so lid will not fit.

I would let the electrician who is doing the final connection decide as to how to gland, I have seen plastic boxes where there is a metal back plate, there are two considerations one is making the earth connection the other is physical properties of plastic, including if the plastic at required angle to wall to allow a gland to be fitted.
