Those of us that do enjoy putting small holes in card at 200 yards and beyond would consider that shooting those responsible for the PO disaster as to light a punishment

Too late for some and none will get the ruined years of their lives back!
But that's the nature of the slow grinding wheel of the law when the powerful can avoid/delay the outcome!

Fair enough, however the PO knew of problems with the Horizon application and were AFAIR obstructive in the investigation.

It accepted it had previously "got things wrong in [its] dealings with a number of postmasters", and agreed to pay £58m in damages.
The claimants received a share of £12m, after legal fees were paid...'
An average of approx' £12mil / 555 = £21621 each.
Blimey, 92000 hrs legal fees @ guesstimate £500 per hr.

The 'managers' that allowed prosecutions to continue even when an element of doubt was present should hang their heads in shame. I also understand an internal report was placed on a proverbial shelf and not acted on.

In April 2015, the BBC described a confidential report that alleged that the Post Office had made 'failings'[26] with regard to accounting issues with its Horizon IT system that were identified by sub-postmasters as early as 2000.[27][28] The article claimed that an independent investigation by forensic accountants Second Sight had found that the Post Office had failed to identify the root cause of accounting shortfalls in many cases before launching court proceedings against sub-postmasters.[29] The shortfalls could have been caused by criminals using malicious software, by IT systems or by human error, the report said. An earlier article[30] by the BBC had claimed that a confidential report contained allegations that the Post Office had refused to hand over documents that the accountants felt they needed to investigate properly, that training was not good enough, that equipment was outdated, and that power cuts and communication problems had made things worse. The Post Office has claimed that their system was not at fault. In 2019, the Post Office was lambasted by the High Court for its 'institutional obstinacy or refusal to consider' that its Horizon computer system might be flawed. The judge, Mr Justice Fraser, characterised this stance as "the 21st-century equivalent of maintaining that the earth is flat."[31] In spite of the court action against its sub-postmasters, which was described by a judge as "aggressive and, literally, dismissive", the Post Office's chief executive Paula Vennells, who had in the meantime left the Post Office and taken up posts in the NHS and the Cabinet Office, was controversially awarded a CBE in the 2019 New Year Honours for "services to the Post Office and to charity".[32] On 19 March 2020 she was harshly criticised in the House of Commons, particularly by Kevan Jones, MP for North Durham, who said:[33]

She got a CBE in the new year's honours list for services to the Post Office. That is just rubbing salt into the wounds of these innocent people. There is a case for her having that honour removed, and I would like to know how she got it in the first place when the court case is ongoing. Added to that, she is now chair of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Again, I would like to know why and what due diligence was done on her as an individual.

Titter. I love the London football club rivalry. I remember leaving the Villa ground with my first-born a few years back, having lost to Chelsea. I was reading this story earlier and was genuinely and utterly shocked that the post office and Fujitsu appear to be completely unapologetic at ruining people's lives.
They have clearly made a number of errors and have purposely mislead the courts in previous trials, attempted to use bullying tactics to keep people quiet and appear to not even attempt to hold top brass within the post office or Fujitsu to account.
I hope the post office and Fujitsu have there bottoms sued and have to pay millions out in damages.

That's disgraceful, can't believe the victims only got 20k each, think their livelihoods and reputation lost income etc etc would be worth much more. Greedy solicitors come out alright though, post office should have agreed 58 million + legal fees.
Fujitsu are very quiet..... Hope they get sued also.
As I understand it when I read an article in the guardian earlier they are being investigated by but I believe they've being investigated for a little while now and nothing has happened as yet, hopefully with the outcome of this case they can now be brought to justice.
