Issue with neighbours oil tank

Morning all!

My neighbour plumbed in his new central heating oil tank a couple of months back. Little did I know at the time there are regulations with regards to where the tank must be positioned Re boundary fence or buildings etc.

Not only is it too close to our fence (which he has recently creosoted) but also to his conservatory. Which is obviously a concern as we're a semi detached property.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Talk to them or the council, the rules are there for safety reasons.

what are the distances from your concerns. It could be a tuffa tank which has internal fire protection!

Thanks for your reply snb,

It's a standard Harliquin tank. It sits about 1ft from our fence and 3ft from their conservatory.

Should be at least 600mm from a boundary and 1.8 metres from any opening
in a building and a conservatory has openings. Bob

"760mm away from a non-fire rated boundary, such as a wooden boundary fence" ... should also have a building cert/warrant (depending on where you are) or be a certified install ... which I guess it aint if it's only 300mm away from your boundary, as a registered installer wouldn't install it that close, if they did then their breaking the regs.
