I have a really old and basic Omega Petite house alarm system. However it has never given me a problem, so I've kept it for years.
I had some electrical work done last week which triggered the alarm bell. Since then, the alarm panel looks fine and is in 'day' mode, but when I press the keys to set the alarm, nothing happens. Any idea's anyone ? Any advice would be appreciated. I've got the manual but it's not helping!

It's never been changed by us, so 10 years at least! We've never had cause to remove the front panel, it's just carried on working. Do you think that's the issue?

It’s probably locked up due to the battery being faulty..and depending on how old the panel is , it may not have nvm back up. It’s probably going to need re programming
Maybe time to upgrade the panel

Sorry to ask so many questions, is it a battery I can replace and try re programming it myself ?

If its not nackered it will need a reboot. There's no NVM on the panel so once rebooted it will need to be fully reprogrammed

1234 is likely now your code for when it goes off

I need to open it up and see what type of battery it is first...can't see it in the manual

I'll have a look in the week when if the alarm sounds, it won't upset the neighbours so much!
Help much appreciated, middle aged mum here trying to get it sorted without having to pay a professional!!

Does anyone know what type of battery this is?

I looked very quickly as the alarm was sounding outside the house. Does it just unclip to remove it?
