herd immunity for EU 446m population likely to be reached by mid July

They will increase the rate but theres no way they achieve herd immunity by July, which was stated by Notch, but who seems to have changed his mind now, something he has history of.
What a dishonest person you.

Firstly you claimed I "commented EU would achieve herd immunity by mid July"......which I did not and don't have the balls to admit your error.

Secondly you posted 7 day averages for France and Germany against 1 good day for UK.....which again you don't have the balls to admit your deliberate misleading comparison.

I note Charlie George doesn't say he is pleased the EU is catching up.....obviously he is a vaccine nationalist and doesn't care about people dying in Europe.

I note Charlie George doesn't say he is grateful for the 20 million vaccine doses from the EU.

As I said months ago, the EU will catch up with UK by summer, because vaccination manufacture will ramp up

Charlie George said it was a stupid comment.

I wonder what he makes of this:

"Breton told Le Parisian that the 450,000 residents across Europe should receive enough doses to get where the continent needs to be by 14 July. “Fourteen million doses were delivered to the EU in January, 28 million in February and 60 million in March. For the next quarter, we will increase to 100 million in April, May and June. Then 120 million in the summer, and we will reach a rate of 200 million from September"

And if it's true that so many have been infected as reported, then it may well be that the 'virus' is gradually 'winding down'...

As previous 'viruses' have always done before.

You're actually starting to get it....

Please stop making dishonest conflations, I expect that stuff from John the plumber not you.

You are very intelligent, you are better than this.
Pot and kettle notchy boy.
Dishonest conflations you say.
Multiple times I’ve pulled you up for saying I have said stuff when I have not, so I’m sorry but that post of yours is laughable.

Indeed...

And if it's true that so many have been infected as reported, then it may well be that the 'virus' is gradually 'winding down'...

As previous 'viruses' have always done before.

But do we trust the figures this time around when the 'rewards' for big pharma are so great?

It's not winding down and has a fair chance of becoming worse - mutations. It will "wind down" due to mass vaccination. The people who catch it will be more resilient so less hospitalisation and deaths. This could make it more similar to flu where the vast majority get over it and don't need treatment. Covid may have a seasonable aspect but it's seen more to be down to what we do at various times of the year. :Less time outdoors in winter etc. The virus may survive longer in colder conditions.

As the vaccines are very targeted to what they are intended to get our immune system to do a big worry is mutations. They could make the vaccines less effective or even useless. We are just starting to come out of a lock down that has been pretty effective. Covid wont have gone away so now and the next few weeks will start to tell them how effective the vaccine program has been. In the near future they will relax lockdown even further and probably again at some point after that.

Vaccination means that our immune systems react to an infection sooner. That means that people who catch it can infect others for a shorter period of time. This is based on what vaccination usually does on other diseases.

So in a nutshell as they have said some people will need hospital treatment and some will die. How many is still a bit TBD but will be better than previous waves. It should be one hell of a lot better.

That is exactly what you stated in thread title,no links no question mark at end,it was your opinion,to then claim you didn't say it is beyond belief,it's there in black and white FFS,and if you didn't mean it,what was the point. As to the EU shall we wait and see where they are in 10 weeks then, hopefully they get there act together and massively increase the current rate to achieve herd immunity by July, at the moment Germany for example have fully vaccinated 7% of the population,so you can see why i have doubts on the July date.
This website has up to date vaccination figures, and estimates date when countries will reach 70%.

Why not get some correct information. We have a long way to go for everybody to be fully vaccinated - actually they have recently approved a jab that needs just one dose

But not the 'jab'!

Good for you. I would defend your right to make your own decision on the vaccine but can you accept that I have made a different decision?

Do you accept you are benefitting from all the people who have agreed to be vaccinated?

Well he quoted an expert group who said that exact thing so I presume so. Hard to get an answer to any rebuttals though.

No you haven't.

Not once.

Have you seen the news about India?

Goodness me 1.3billion Indians all faking being ill and dying......They can't really be dying and desperate for oxygen because Covids no worse than mild flu eh?

I'm not sure I'd go as far as presume that. :D

I am just thankful this country has had a very high take up rate....over 90% (y)
