Which replacement central heating pump

A stillson type wrench will tend to compress the thin pump nut onto the thread increasing the friction.
You could try soaking with WD40 but without a set of adjustable spanners (I use an 18" and 24" set) you might be best replacing the the pump valves entirely.
If you undo the connections to the 15mm gate valve and mid position B port above you can probably spring the pipes out enabling the valves to be replaced.

Thanks for the advice, I did not realise the big ones come off the body till you mentioned it. Will try the chisel approach 1st else cut and use the 2 new valves I purchased the Grundfos UPS3

Thanks, that's another good point.

I wished I had asked all these questions yesterday before I re-filled the system.

HELP!

So, I replaced pump, both gate valves and refilled system.

Except there is a leak on one of the gate valves. The leak is behind the small nut so I guessing the olive or pipe not so good?. I have tightened hard only just a bit better.

Looks like I have to take it all down again and replace the olives :(

This time around please what should I put on the olives to guarantee a seal.

Mrs won't be pleased if I don't sort this out tonight

p.s I have the Fernox blue & yellow tub jointing compounds, ptfe, lsx and more olives ready at home since the shops will be closed :)

Thanks

Try wrapping a couple of turns of PTFE around the olive and put a little paste on the pump valve thread to reduce friction and aid tightening.

Thanks, will try the PTFE on existing olive as Its a big job to get the whole lot out again ......

Success.
I put in new olives, added lsx and ptfe. No leaks. Wished I had done that in the first place.

I stuck my finger down some pipes and its still black. There was me thinking the x400. x800 and multiple drains was going to give me clean pipes. Some of the black crud gravitated to a magnet close by.

what is the best solution to ‘really’ shift all this?

If not, you can cut the big nuts off with a dremel or a junior hacksaw and new ones can be fitted without removing anything as the nuts have cut-outs on them specifically for this.
Sadly not all are the same, sometimes you can do this but not always
