'Global' Britain...

Thanks for finally doing what I asked you to do. Is that your trick then? don’t bother answering a question & then when you get asked again, call them a troll. Damn your smart. That’s why I really really look up to you. You are a person with morals & principles & just an out & out nice person. Good work Boyo.

Are you on about the UK, the Tories and their (now even richer) cronies? They had an absolute ball during the first lockdown.
Whilst we have poverty in this country, I'd hazard a guess most people living in poverty have running water and a high % will have a roof over their heads.

What western governments are doing at home is not connected (not directly anyway) to what we're doing in terms of aid to other countries. My point stands. Whether the aid is ring-fenced or not, some of these countries wouldn't need as much if their leaders weren't bleeding their countries dry.

Shelter might disagree.

People on universal credit might have running water, but lots have no heating and regularly go without food.

The money for those billion pound Tory bogus contracts has to come from somewhere.

Here's an idea, instead of cutting foreign aid, why don't we cut Tory corruption.

Can you answer the question I asked. (y)

:ROFLMAO:

that is a good idea. Probably the only sensible political suggestion said this week on DIYNot.

Perhaps those pontificating to others about aid etc

should set an example and dip there own hands in there own pockets :mrgreen:

( for ounce )

use there saved holiday money due to this lock down caper and donate it to the poor and needy ;)

Galahad could let his ( houses) out
To deserving cases

France intends to increase its foreign aid budget. Currently, France allocates 0.44% of its gross national income (GNI) to foreign aid. The country’s president, Emmanuel Macron, has set a goal of attributing 0.55% of the GNI to foreign aid by 2022. This would increase the budget from its current amount, $12.2 billion, to over $15 billion, allocating nearly $3 billion extra to France’s foreign aid.

With 2.5 trillion national debt, a failing economy and Generals calling for an uprising. Nah.

I'm sticking with my bottled water. Only 99p for 4 at Aldi. Bristol water tastes of chlorine.
Can't believe your solution is to buy bottled water. How much do you think 2 litres of tap water costs you?

Just draw off a jug/ panful and let it stand for 24 hours. The Chlorine will dissipate.

Far cheaper and much better for the environment on several different levels.

Sounds bad.
But UK national debt is 2.2 trillion, a failing economy that they brought on themselves, a clown as PM, surrounded by a bunch of corrupt millionaires, and the serious risk of the Union splitting apart.
No wonder you and others want the spotlight elsewhere.

No need to fret. It's only a couple of bottles a week for drinking, the tap water is perfectly ok for tea and coffee. The bottles are recycled.

As a bonus, I'm helping to support jobs in the plastics, oil and transport industries, etc. ;)

Imagine what the benefits would be if everybody reduced their bottled water consumption.

Production of plastics, reliance on fossil fuels and vehicle emissions.

All the things we are trying to reduce.

Not possible to reduce mine, it's at zero already. But then I don't drink unadulterated water as I don't like the taste of it.
