Electric Underfloor Heating

Anyone knows that electronics fail when over heated, usually the capacitors. Putting TVs over a source of heat is asking for trouble.
Not anyone does know that. I’ve looked in the docs for my TV. There’s no such warning. You may have made it up. Where’s your proof?

For once Winston has some credibility. Fixing a TV above a source of warmth/heat can affect the lifetime of the TV.

Convention currents can lift dust into the TV. This dust coats components and reduces the effectiveness of heat sinks in the TV. Warm air also reduces the ability of heat sinks to cool components in the TV.

Overheated components may continue to work but excessive temperature can cause semiconductor devices to degrade faster than they would at their maximum rated temperature.

If I tell you something I don’t expect you to demand proof every time. I don’t make things up. Manufacturers of your TV assume no one would be stupid enough to install it above a source of heat. They obviously did not know about you.

Well said.

The trouble is you’ve got such a history of lying on this forum people are bound to ask for proof when you make a statement which appears to lack credibility. You’ve been asked to provide evidence to support your spurious claims many many times and have never managed to do so. The only possible reason for not providing evidence is because it doesn’t exist.

I never lie. Perhaps you are thinking of someone else.

Why do you think that “putting a TV over a source of heat is unwise” lacks credibility?

You lie often. Would you like me to post some examples again?

Your statement lacks credibility due to the lack of actual evidence to support your opinion. I understand that you think it is a bad idea but that doesn’t mean that it actually is.

As I said I never lie. My statement does not lack credibility. It is common sense. Bernardgreen has explained it very well a few post up thread. Have you asked him for proof of his explanation as well?

It appears to have been removed and now put back with a different title. The original answers from 333rocky333 and two others have not reappeared. Looks like censorship and then suddenly realising it was a mistake so tried to restore it.

That is categorically not true. I have records to prove that the post in question has never been removed or hidden from view in any form. The title has never been changed. There have been no other posts made to that thread other than the ones which you can see. Don’t you dare lie or accuse us of doing something which we haven’t. You are already on very thin ice, and this behaviour does nothing to help your case.

1.0mm cable can only be used for lights

NO I DID NOT SAY THAT. YOU ARE LYING.
Yes you did in post 3
Hm, so I did

Sadly your advice is misleading. Anyone fitting a 500 mA fuse (next size above 0.43 amp) for a 100 watt bulb would be confused when the switch on surge blew it every time.

I was quite clear that plugs were downgraded to 8 amps

The Post Office (before BT) downgraded 13 amp sockets to 8amps

DIY electrics is not allowed in Ireland.

All lies which you have posted on this forum.

As I said have you also asked Bernardgreen for proof of his excellent explanation?
