Would you call this engineered wood?

Had this flooring installed. It's basically rubbish, chipping, marking etc. after two weeks. It was advertised as engineered wood by the company I bought it from. People have now told me it is not engineered wood due to it's composition. I knew it was thinner than good quality engineered wood but bought it because it was cheaper and thought I was getting a compromise between a high quality engineered wood and laminate. However, I would have been better off with laminate as this isn't going to last longer than a few months.

Has it been falsely advertised as engineered wood?

- Dimensions: 1203 x 190 mm
- Thickness: 7.2 mm
- Top layer: 0.6 mm
- Click system: Uniclic
- Finishing: Brushed

Looks like laminate to me.
Mdf in the middle.
Engineered wood is made up of lots of pieces of wood glued together.

The website clearly states it's not engineered wood. (It claims to be better for green purposes)
If a retailer sold this as engineered wood, your argument is with them.

Would you still call it laminate even though the top layer is real wood, despite it being so thin?

I think their argument is going to be that laminate is synthetic but the top layer of this is real wood. But it's obviously not engineered as they have described it either.

Only sweeping it and walking on it in thick socks is exactly what I've been doing. It's terrible. I don't know what to do. I'm writing a complaint to the company but unlikely it's going to help. I feel it's been falsely advertised by them.

Your link to the uk supplier calls it engineered wood.
Your link to the manufacturer says it isn't
I would call Trading Standards and have a chat.
Any argument is with the supplier not the maker.

@Tigercubrider yeah I would agree but where about on the manufacturer website does it say it's not? The closest I can find is "Our Titanium finished wood in combination with a core out of high density fibre board (HDF), makes your floor stronger and more dimensionally stable than any traditional solid or engineered wooden floor." but this doesn't necessarily mean they are not classifying it as some sort of engineered floor. Just tried to email Parky and this was the conversation:

"Is this an engineered floor?"
"It's a wooden floor"
"Yes but is it engineered wood?"
"It is a top layer of real wood on HDF"
"Yes... but is it engineered wood or not?"

No reply. Obviously trying to beat around the bush. They are probably aware of it being retailed as engineered wood and this is how they sell it cheaply.

"High-strength
Our Titanium finished wood in combination with a core out of high density fibre board (HDF), makes your floor stronger and more dimensionally stable than any traditional solid or engineered wooden floor. Use Parky with peace of mind in the toughest places of your house such as your kitchen or high traffic areas in commercial use such as hotel lobbies, offices, retail stores..."
