I'm not sure why. :cautious:

This is the "before" image. I assumed it must have been a 3 storey house before but no. What was he thinking????? It doesn't say much for the intelligence of Green Party supporters. o_O I bet he's a member of XR. ;)

I wonder how many more "interesting" cases we will see with the new permitted development rules allowing the addition of extra storeys? (This would not comply as it pre-dates 1948)

I wonder if "hideous" made it into the planner's report.
Admittedly it looked a bit crap before, but what was he thinking?

I hope it's not the start of a "do what you like" thing in planning, in the same way we are seeing in other parts of society.

"they then discovered the work had ‘already been carried out’" - I wonder how they discovered that

Woke councillors will probably let it stay as there is a 'climate emergency/crisis' or whatever.
Remember that Greens, XR and others are allowed to commit criminal damage and generally mess up the place.

It's obviously not finished, but you would have thought that the planners may have been slightly more sympathetic if he had mad even the slightest attempt to keep the design more in fitting with the rest of the street!

A pitched roof, no corner window and not putting g what resembles a garden shed on top may have helped his case!

Theres no call for any of that.

In fact, if youd like to know whose intelligence that statement does call into question...

There is.

Your expertise in climate science is what?

Proof of that please. As in proof that they are "allowed" to do things which others are not.

There just isn't a climate crisis.
The concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is 0.04%; mankind is thought to be responsible for 5% of that, ie 0.002%. Here in the UK when Johnson has finished destroying what little industry we have and has us shivering in our lukewarm ASHP heated homes, our 1% will reduce atmospheric CO2 by 0.00002%. I'm sure that will make a big difference.

That may not seem like a large amount, but it hasn't been that high for 3 million years.

Also in 1750 it was 0.02%. The increase in less than 300 years is faster than has been found in evidence going back millions of years.

Humans are responsible for a 45% increase in atmospheric co2, not 5%. That 5% figure is used by people who really either willfully or ignorantly don't understand the carbon cycle.

It's a bit of a monstrosity,

It's far to talk for the area, and what's the garden shed on the roof for?

Please tell us what your qualifications and expertise in climate science are.

Or people like Tony who know absolutely nothing about it and yet have decided to disbelieve all the people who do.
