What is the recommended way?
I use imgur.com. I upload and copy the file path.
Is there a better way?

Thanks.

A quick way is to copy and paste pics in. That does not work from some websites though. Don't know why.

So for those, and for my own pics, I copy to a directory on my PC, and "upload a file" from there.

if you provide a link to a hosting service
- some people can't view them if not subscribers or with high security settings
- some people don't like to open third-party sites
- some people don't like the floods of ads
- sometimes the link is a trick

I actually prefer to upload from an external website...
If I need to delete... then easier to delete from the website.
I just don't like using imgur.com. It's too spammy.

I just view the picture, use the windows snipping tool (win7/win10) and select the area of the image I want, then come to a thread and paste it in.
Simples...

That way the image is also stored with this site, if you use another site to store a photo then the other site may remove the image, leaving a blank post on this site.

Don't forget you can draw on it with different technicolor pens, put an outline round it, or store it. If you find the slide out panel with the picture on disappears, you can find it by clicking bottom right corner in W10 to look at your "notifications". I've seen it absent on Win7 so it may be an extra. It looks quite different on another W10 pc we have, too.

Thanks for the tip!

Hmm, just seen this and yes - the windows snipping tool is present in windows 7, you just have to find it.
