Hi it looks okay to me but I don’t have a switch to try it, on the right are the old wires from the light and on the left new blue/brown to lights and from switch grey with blue tape - neutral, black with red tape - switch wire, brown live, earth sleeve pulled back to check termination hopefully put rest of ceiling up tomorrow after I put in smoke alarm cables F0EC3119-B40E-4F8B-B5CD-1BC5BD05DDE1.jpeg
Thanks

They look ok to me as a diyer, the earth wires are showing but it is always difficult to get them flush at the termination end. You could try smaller sleeving, as a pro electrician doing an eicr might find fault with it.

Otherwise difficult to tell as we cannot pull the wires to test for firmness of the termination.

Blup

Connections are all tight and that sleeving has creeped back a bit. Thanks

Looks okay to me. You can test it by joining the brown and black wires together where the switch will be going. Because after all, that's all that a switch does.

Rubbish. There’s no reg on the size of sleeving, only that there should be some!

I wasn’t suggesting that, just that a thinner sleeving stops the slipping back that can expose the bare copper earth wire. Equally it can be tricky to fit especially if the earth conductor has been previously twisted.

For the coloured sleeving, if you want to be pedantic coloured shrinkrap would be the best bet.
