salamander pump-turning on and off rapidly when in use

Hi
in the last week the pump is turning on and off rapidly when first used in the morning to provide hot water to the shower .
after about 10 minutes its then ok.

Any ideas ?

Morning... Sounds like your pump is "hunting" - this occurs when a universal pump is installed in a system with a leak. When the pump recognises a pressure drop, caused by the leak, it will activate. You can carry out an isolation test on the pump to determine if a leak is causing the pump to turn on and off. Switch off the water supply from the pump using the isolation valves on the outlet anti-vibration couplers (hoses) attached to the pump. The diagram below should help:

Then leave the pump overnight. If the pump doesn't start overnight then you probably have a leak in the system which is causing the pump to kick in.
 
Thanks Salamander but how can that explain it then switching off ? .i can see why that would explain it switching on when you are not using it.
But its switching off whilst the shower is still running.then it comes on again.
