Lead flashing repair

I presume I'm in the right category.

I have some lead flashing that's partly come adrift between a side roof and wall.

Looking on YT, hall clips and tubes of lead sealant seem to be preferred these days to lead plugs and mortar.

Any issues to consider?

Any possibility of some digital images please??

Photos as requested. Its really only the end section that's come adrift but render has fallen out along most of the run.

if it were me? I would very carefully lift of the piece of lead that has detached, try not to allow the lead to deform if possible?

Get the lead to ground level, keep it flat as possible, re-form the small "lip" that was inserted into the brick chase.

On the roof, clear out the wall chase, of all and any crap and dust.

Check the condition of the remaining mortar covering the lead and wall chase.remove and replace if you have any doubts about it.

When lifting the lead off and on to the roof, even when "storing" the lead lay it on to a flat board that will support the lead over as much of its length as possible, you should even be able to dress the lead "lip" by using the lifting board edge.

As for re-fitting the lead, use lead "Batts" to wedge the lead flashing when fitted, [Batts are simply folded small bits of lead that are wedged between the lead flashing and the brick work use [say ] three or four on the loose length of lead flashing.

Gently re-dress the flashing over the roof tiles and then re-point the joint between lead flashing and brickwork.

Thats’s pointing made up of sand and cement (mortar).

Hall clips are pretty fool proof and certainly faster than plugging with lead wedges.
If you use lead mastic make sure the chase is totally dust free.
This particular job is very easy and will not take long .. remember the cleaner and deeper the chase the easier it is to re fit the flashing

Used hall clips and lead mastic.

I took all the sheets off and cleaned them. One was 2.5m long which is too long for a flashing sheet apparently, the max should be 1.5m so I cut it in half as there's plenty spare for overlap.

The laborious part was cleaning the chase out.

My lead beating isn't the best but I've got the sheets reasonably well shaped over the tiles.
