Colin Pitchfork, the first murderer in history to be convicted using DNA evidence, has been recommended for release by the Parole Board.

Pitchfork, who had a string of sex offences going back to his teenage years, raped and killed two schoolgirls in the 1980’s. He almost escaped justice because he persuaded one of his workmates to masquerade as him and take the DNA test on his behalf. Thankfully the deception was eventually uncovered and Pitchfork was tried and sentenced to life imprisonment.

And now, at age 62, he’s been recommended for release by those nice people at the Parole board. Have they learned nothing in recent years?

This devil incarnate should not be given a second chance;...he gave those poor girls no chance!

A Parole Board spokesman said " Protecting the public is our number one priority."...What ‽‽‽

There is only one sure way to protect the public from this monster as far as I’m concerned.

How many other murderers (child or adult victim, should make no odds) have been released early do you think( I don't know)? They should all have been hanged.

Any one released on parole

if they re offend than those who decided to give em parole should be held to account
For negligence

bang them up for 15 years

it may make em stop and think

Perhaps one of those compassionate and forgiving Parole Board officials could put him up for a few months in their back-bedroom just until he gets back on his feet again. He merits at least that much help,...he’s obviously such a deserving case.

Pitchfork could probably even repay the kindness by doing a few favours in return,...you know, babysitting or running the kids to school,...something like that.

Of course that scenario won’t happen,...but the monstrous Pitchfork will be living anonymously in an unsuspecting community somewhere in the country!

The case was featured in The Blooding by Joseph Wambaugh, not widely available now but a cracking read

Life should mean life.
With no recreations except maybe books but these will also have to be selected for him and not contain any material related to their type/style of crime.
Maybe some Catherine Cooksons or something of that ilk.

And during daytime hard labour breaking rocks for road construction.

Pretty certain I would push a button or pull a lever on the bloke and several others I could name

mind u in ***n he would have probably only got 10 years ?? As it was a woman

and there would have had to have been 3 or 4 witnesses
(Men) for the rape so he would have got away with that ????

I'll happily do it and I think the relatives of the poor girls would queue up to do it.
OK.

I have a condition to attach to that.

If, later, it transpires that the person executed was innocent, then you, automatically, with no trial, and no chance of defence, are judged guilty of murder yourself, put to death yourself, and every penny you and your family own is taken to provide recompense to the family of the unjustly executed person.

This is to happen in all circumstances, no matter what the reason - forced confession, later scientific advances, police incompetence, forensics incompetence, perjury by witnesses, police lies, judicial misdirection....

None of that is to have any relevance. Hes now known to be innocent? You are now a murdererand your family is to be made destitute.

Still want to pull that lever?

The whole story of his capture was turned into a TV series a few years ago.

yes I recall that now got his mate to stand in for a DNA test

bloke should have been bumped off years ago IMO

all this talk about deterrents

tis retribution that is required

OK

Are you are happy with the same retribution being applied to police/prosecutors who lie and jurors who convict innocent people?
