I’m removing a pond. It’s got a couple of surprise layers of cement, total about 3 inches thick that’s holding water in so I thought I’d remove as much as I can.
thought I’d just remove enough to show soil below for water drainage when I fill it in to extend my lawn
I filled the bottom with water to see how it drains. but the bottom is not draining very well. I think it’s drained about 0.5cm in 30 minutes. It’s a lot of water, but in heavy storms am sure there’ll be just as much but then it’s mostly earth then so am worried the water won’t drain.
does anyone think that’s ok before I fill it in? See picture. Am worried I’ll have a water logged lawn if I fill it in without removing more concrete. It’s compacted clay soil maybe that’s it.
