This question goes out to all the chippys on here, I am thinking of building a timber pond as in the video below. I would screw the timber through with timberlok screws 200mm, timber being 150mm.

The question is, would you advise also gluing each one to the one below?

No glue, but would line with cement board screwed thru to timbers you keep all stable and give smooth lining.

Many thanks Foxy, I intend to make an internal 18mm shuttering ply box to fit inside and then fibreglass it. I'm concerned the 150mm x 50mm timber splitting if I glued it all together.

Yes likely too much movement for glue to hold, looks like the one in the video simply uses a pond liner. Or you could use a large cold water tank, far less work.

Get a chippy to make one for you. Try the one who cuts down wardrobes, he should be cheap. May take a few years but you can keep track of the build on this forum...

I will post pictures once I've done it, I do like hard work.

I'd be inclined to fit a large dowel to the top and bottom of each of those box joints to prevent the panels moving sideways.
