Is this a lead water supply pipe?

spoke to the water company and they wont subsidise anything as it's all after the stopcock. .
the stopcock = Their stopcock in the pavement ? So that's a No lead replacement stance  presumably they will renew the pipe from the large street main and give you a new stopcock in a new plastic "pit" because that pipe's gotta be lead. Please let us know what they say.;)

I wouldn't get too stressed about it. Old lead pipes are normally lined with a layer of scale that stops the water getting in contact with the lead.

Yes, you should get it replaced. But drinking water from that pipe is not going to cause you any damage in the short-medium term.

Even so, run some water off to waste first thing on a morning, before using it for drinking.

I hade a lead pipe serving my house from boundry to internal kitchen, used to cause all sorts of pressure problems. In 2019 we had an extension done and i got a thames water approved contractor to replace with 25mm mdpe pipe via moling. Total cost £550, now flow is v good.

now here's the thing.. trying to find someone to lay mdpe is a nightmare. Builders not available, or not calling back or not turning up! I'm really tempted by checkatrade right now or findabuilder..

The spot sample (sitting overnight in the pipe) is over the limit.

However, the flush sample is under.

When I was waiting for the replacement, I'd make a point of using the loo and washing the coffee pot up before making coffee.

Run the tap for a little bit before use.

If you really can't find a private firm, ask the water Co. to quote to do it? That was an option for me, but, more money that private

I didn't search for a builder, I searched for a water main replacement company.
Where in the UK are you?
