Morning all.I have noticed holes appearing in a uniform fashion in verticals of my pointing..they are situated on a South facing wall , start about 2ft below gutter and appear in every other course for about 5 ft..3 holes to the left and 7 holes to right. (Hope I've explained that ok!)..the grey joint to the right is where it joins next doors corner house. I am in a cul de sac terrace built 1975 and the corner houses have those joins either side..It's not where a cable has been pulled out etc. From what I've googled I've read thermal expansion any advice appreciated thanks. Oh and photo attached!

Look more like pinholes where brickies put there line pins.

It looks to me, as if the brickie hasn't properly filled the vertical joints when it was built/pointed. If you try to push on the cement in the joins, just below those gaps, does it push in?

I don't have a ladder to try Harry. I've had my step ladder out and reached about 4ft below and they were ok but can't get anywhere near the ones where holes are

Just appeared? :cautious::rolleyes:

They appeared when the bricky pulled the pins out of the still wet mortar.

So I've been in the house 21 years ,the holes have been there all the time and I've just noticed now? Id best clean my specs..mind I'm happy with that result if that's the case

I have heard of commando brickies turning up at night and building walls. Have you heard any mixers going lately? Teabags scattered about the garden? :cautious:
