Hi

Could I have an experienced recommendation for which masking tape to use?

I have a feature wall which has wallpaper on it. The other walls are painted. I want to change the paint only - hopefully getting away with not having to strip wallpaper off etc etc. Which would be the best tape to use (and method) on how to avoid getting paint on the wallpaper, or tearing the wallpaper.

Is there a different method I should use - for example using a metal rule as an edge?

Many thanks

Thin the paint down slightly and cut in free hand. Use only downward strokes and press down on the brush and angle very slightly towards the wallpaper wall extending the bristles to almost a point. If you make sure this 'point' never crosses the wallpaper the line will be nice and neat.

I would go with the advice offered by Chivas. A decent brush will help though.

I seldom ever use masking tape to define lines. Invariably the paint leaks under the tape or it damages the surface. Rather than spending £7 on a roll of tape, perhaps spend a tenner on a reasonable brush.

Personally I'd say go for a low tack tape- tesa or masq are good ones
