Conservatives get massive boost

An MP's constituents come after the responsibility to the nation as a whole do they not?

An MPs responsibility is "in the best interests of the country"

You are confusing, what people vote for with what is the best interests of the country.

Brexit was never in the best interests of the country, only the vested interests of Tory MPs, disaster capitalists, hedge fund managers, right wing libertarians, fossil fuel interests, Russians and any other shyster.

Might as well not bother with voting then, picking our own parties etc?

You make no sense

if an MP's duty is to act in the best interests of his country (as is a Government's and a PM's), then you should vote for a person who you think will do that.

And Johnson would still be writing humorous fiction for the fish-wrapping trade.

This is an often quoted claim.

But I've yet to see any brexiteer actually provide any evidence the UK govt would have got a better deal.

The simple fact is: if you want free access to the Single Market, you have to agree with the rules.....almost the problems faced post Brexit are a lack of recognition of this.
Most problems post Brexit are caused by the anger and upset within Barnier and Von Der Leyen and their wish to punish us for leaving, look no further than their appalling disregard for Northern Island, that is particularly repugnant.

Most problems post Brexit are...

...are due to the failure of brexers to agree what it was they were trying to achieve, and put that forward to the country.

they have still not done it, and never will.

Neither do you, oddly enough. I mentioned that I actually thought quite highly of the Labour leader and that I'm not as supportive of the Conservatives as I was and yet rather than extolling the virtues of Labour you are hung up on my choice of Brexit vote, no wonder Labour lost such a massive proportion of it's mainstay voters....now it makes sense!

Politicians on the other hand are hardly selfless so it begs the question if they are feeling so utterly butt hurt by the reduction what is in it for them...

Nail on the head. Reducing the amount of taxpayers' hard earned money that's doled out to some very dubious causes, countries or regimes may just about be one of the few things that the government is getting right. However, like promises to reduce immigration, we need to remember that these are politicians' promises...............................................

such as the pub landlord who's a friend of Hancock, or the tory party donors who are first in the queue for lucrative contracts, without competitive tendering or quality assurance, or ferry contracts to companies with no ferries, or taxpayer funded schemes to enrich the owners and directors of housebuilding firms.

You're completely wrong. It's what the government negotiated and agreed to. Can The EU be in the wrong for trying to hold Johnson to his agreement - an agreement which means nothing to him? It's Johnson who is completely in the wrong - not only jeopradising the GF Agreement, but the break up of The UK. Johnson visited NI and said that there will be a border down the Irish Sea "over my dead body". This year, there's a border down the Irish Sea. Same with checks of goods Britain to NI which the government agreed to make, but Blojo now wants to wriggle out of. Does following the rules that we agreed to count as punishment by The EU? It is Brexit and Johnson that has an appalling disregard for NI, not The EU who have made some concessions when they had no obligation to do so. The more this fiasco drags on, the more honourable the EU looks. But compared to treacherous Johnson, that's hardly difficult.

So do you support the EU for invoking article 16, at the drop of a hat because of their own vaccine cock up?

It is possible to be critical of the EU overreacting and also be amazed by the incompetence of Boris Johnson, Theresa May and the rest of the Tory party in general. Let's not forget there been a Tory majority for the duration.

Boris Johnson agreed a deal where Northern Ireland stays in the Single Market for goods.

The Single Market is surrounded by the customs union - anything coming from outside of that border is subject to checks.
That is how it works.

Unfortunately the vote Leave campaign made promises which weren't true, which is why the Tory party and the pro Brexit media are now blaming the EU for a situation that was inevitable.

Can anyone find any truth in the above..?

No, it was wrong.

And in fact they never invoked it and they reversed that line of thinking quickly.

The EU has huge vaccine manufacture capacity and it got complacent, don't forget though, if EU had kept all of its production the UK would be miles behind
