The UK are super-sanctimonious when it comes to animal cruelty finger pointing, whilst being blithely unaware of the hypocrisy. "Halal and Kosher are so cruel...." I hear the finger pointers whinge.

So say the people who have never in their lives been around the UK slaughter industry.

I’m pretty sure if we had to kill our own food, there would be a lot more vegetarians about, myself included. I don’t think I could kill something I’ve reared. Maybe something in the wild that I’d shot. I’d kill a fish though.

UK law currently requires all new medicines to be tested on two animals before being given before being allowed on the market — one rodent and one non-rodent, commonly dogs. Beagles have been used to developed new drugs for serious illnesses in humans — including high cholesterol, asthma, epilepsy, diabetes and also cancer.
We need to test these things on living creatures, sadly Brexit voters aren't sufficiently close to humans to be valid, so we have to use other more intelligent animals.

Terrible idea. The quality of health in prison systems would leave us with unreliable data and it'd cost a fortune when the government eventually gets sued for it.

Gordon Ramsey did it on one of his shows. You have to purge the **** out of them first by feeding them on carrots until their poo turns orange. Then, in the fridge until the get sleepy and straight into a hot pan with butter and garlic. Let me know how you get on.

I'll wait until I'm retired and skint. I'll be living off the land by then so won't be a problem;)

It's extremely sad, disgusting and inhumane that those prisoners in Dachau were not given the opportunity to volunteer or sign waivers.
It is widely recognized that the experiments performed on prisoners in German concentration camps during the Second World War were in fact brutal crimes committed under the guise of medical research.

The article goes on to discuss whether the results of any such experiments should be used at all on ethical grounds, as IT Minion alludes to.
It isn't good enough. You're literally under duress. Not to mention the volume of mental health issues would make screening a nightmare.
