Crack in bath

Hi there

We have just moved house and noticed what looks to be a crack (though could be a scratch) in the bath. Keen not to have to replace the whole bath. Its about 5 inches long and hairline.

So im wondering if

A) its fixable
B) what is best to use.

Thanks for any advice.

If it's fibreglass, and you're interested in a functional bath rather than a pretty one - then look into laying up some more fibre glass over the top. Abrade the top, clean with acetone, lay-up, (perhpas consider using a fine matting/tissue) then sand down as required afterwards. If you've never used GRP before, the first pratice somewhere else to understand how to work with the materials

I once applied fibreglass matting to the underneath covering a much larger area than the crack, stayed fine for over five years until the room was redone.

Use a bath restorer polish which will remove scratches or confirm it’s a crack.
